How We Give Back

Lice Choice is committed to giving back. Therefore, we pledge to donate 10% of gross sales to a basket of 6 charities and non-profits that are working to make the world a better place.

We also promise that our pricing is not inclusive of our charitable commitments and we will never raise prices as a way to compensate for our donations. Our pledge to donate 10% of gross sales has, and always will,come from our revenue at Lice Choice and never at our customers expense. This is because us at Lice Choice believe that supporting people in getting rid of lice isn’t enough. As a family business, we have a responsibility to support families, communities and people across the country in other struggles they might face.

Every charity we have selected has the highest possible 4 star rating fromCharity Navigator, a renowned national charity evaluator. As they explain on their website:

“Charity Navigator's rating system examines two broad areas of a charity's performance; their Financial Health and their Accountability & Transparency. Our ratings show givers how efficiently we believe a charity will use their support today, how well it has sustained its programs and services over time and their level of commitment to good governance, best practices and openness with information.”

The Carter Center Logo

The Carter Center: Founded in 1982, the Carter Center, in partnership with Emory University, is guided by a fundamental commitment to human rights and the alleviation of human suffering; it seeks to prevent and resolve conflicts, enhance freedom and democracy, and improve health. While the program agenda may change, The Carter Center is guided by five principles: it emphasizes action and results based on careful research and analysis; it does not duplicate the effective efforts of others; it addresses difficult problems and recognizes the possibility of failure as an acceptable risk; it acts as a neutral in dispute resolution activities; and it believes that people can improve their lives when provided with the necessary skills, knowledge, and access to resources.

Give Directly Logo

GiveDirectly: GiveDirectly is the first and the largest nonprofit that lets donors send money directly to the world's poorest. We believe people living in poverty deserve the dignity to choose for themselves how best to improve their lives, and cash enables that choice. GiveDirectly is leading the world's largest and longest term experiment to date studying the effects of a Universal Basic Income. We have also given money to refugees and are continuing to build on the success of their pilot test of providing lump sum cash grants at scale.

Great Aspirations Scholarship Program (GRASP): Helping all students and their families, with a focus on financially disadvantaged households, by:
(a) Giving inspiration and hope that their goals are attainable;
(b) Assisting them with the financial aid process and awarding scholarships;
(c) Supporting them in the attainment of their post-secondary goals at the lowest possible cost.

Our Carbon Neutral Shipping Promise

Pachama Logo

Just as Lice Choice believes in helping people and families get rid of lice with safe, non-toxic, pesticide-free products, we believe in treating the environment with the same philosophy that goes into our products. Although Lice Choice ships all orders with priority 2-day shipping so you can get rid of lice fast, we believe the environment does not have to suffer. Therefore, Lice Choice commits to making all our shipments carbon neutral through using the Offset plug-in in our store. Offset uses industry models in partnership with Pachama to determine the amount of CO2 that is released into the atmosphere for each shipment (based on shipment weight, distance, and type(s) of transportation), and then we donate an amount per shipment to offset those emissions. The funds we donate are used to purchase carbon credits, which offset our emissions through deforestation protection projects.

Here's some examples of the work of the amazing organizations we have selected.
